Hightide Hub | Fremantle
Located on the iconic Arthur Head Reserve overlooking the Indian Ocean and flanked by Western Australia’s oldest standing building: The Round House.
The Hightide Hub was designed as a departure and arrival point; forming a platform for artists talks and performances during the High Tide Festival for The Biennale. The installation offers a simple and elegant design echoing the tidal patterns of Fremantle waters and symbolises the notions of sharing and community.
One single material is used to articulate both shell and core of the structure, thus giving a nod to the industrial and shipping heritage of Fremantle. The plywood sheets were CNC cut forming a friction fitted structure with no nails, screws or glue.
